BAKED ACORN SQUASH 
Acorn squash
Pats of butter
Salt and pepper
Cheddar/Gruyere cheese

Cut acorn squash in half. Place cut side down in shallow pan with an inch of water. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes until tender. Drain water turn over, add pat of butter to each half; salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with grated cheddar cheese or gruyere cheese. Return to oven at 400 degrees and bake until cheese melts.
