BAKED ACORN SQUASH 
1 acorn squash
1 tsp. brown sugar or honey
1 tsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt

Wash acorn squash, cut in half; scrape out seeds. Into each hollow, place:

1 tsp. brown sugar or honey
1 tsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt

Then bake them in covered baking pan, the bottom of which is covered with hot water; in moderately hot oven of 400 degrees for 1 hour. Remove the cover during the last 1/2 hour of baking so that the brown sugar will penetrate into the meaty squash. When done, remove, then mash the squash in each shell a little with a fork. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.
