Cut potatoes in quarters or slices. Layer baking dish with potatoes and sprinkle ranch dressing mix over top. Mix potatoes around a bit, and sprinkle a little more ranch. You can also add salt and pepper if you'd like.

Place pats of butter around the top of potatoes.

For crispier potatoes, bake uncovered at 325°F for about 20-30 minutes. For less crisp bake covered.

I check mine every so often, stirring and adding more butter and ranch if needed.
