PECAN PIE BARS 
FILLING:

4 eggs
1 c. Karo syrup
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. pecan halves or chopped pecans

CRUST:

2 1/2 c. flour
2 sticks cold butter, cut in pieces
1/2 c. sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare crust. In large bowl with mixer, beat 2 1/2 cups flour, 2 sticks butter and 1/2 cup sugar until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Press firmly into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 20-23 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a large bowl beat eggs, corn syrup, sugar, butter and vanilla until well blended. Stir in pecans. Immediately pour over hot crust; spread evenly. Bake 30-35 minutes or until filling is firm around edges and slightly firm in center. Cool completely and cut into squares.
