3 to 4 sweet potatoes, sliced
1/2 stick butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp water

Melt butter in pan. Add potatoes. Pour sugar over potatoes and cook for 10 minutes. Add vanilla and water and cook until yams are done.
