JACKIE'S SWISS BROCCOLI CHOWDER 
1 ham bone
1 (10 oz.) pkg. broccoli, chopped
1 c. milk
1 c. light cream
1 c. shredded Swiss cheese
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. water
Salt and pepper

Cook ham bone in enough water to cover ham bone so meat comes off easily, 1 1/2 hours. Reserve 1 1/2 cups broth, skim off fat. Cut meat from bone and dice. Set aside.

In 3-quart saucepan, combine broccoli and reserved broth. Cover and cook until tender, 5-8 minutes. Add milk, cream and cheese. Combine flour with 1/4 cup water. Add to chowder. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Season with pepper.
