GERMAN BREAD 
1 c. milk, scalded
3/4 c. sugar
1 pkg. dry yeast
4 c. sifted flour
1 1/4 c. soft bread crumbs
3 tbsp. light brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. warm water
2 eggs, well beaten
1/4 tsp. salt

Add the milk to the butter, sugar and salt; stir until butter is melted. Cool until lukewarm. Soften yeast in warm water. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes. When milk mixture is lukewarm, stir in about 1 cup flour and then yeast. Mix in the eggs and remaining flour; beat thoroughly. Cover; let rise in warm place until double, about 1 1/2 hours. Beat mixture thoroughly. Grease and lightly sprinkle with flour a 9"x9"x2" pan. Turn batter into pan. Sprinkle top with mixture of remaining ingredients. Cover and let rise until double, about 50 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for about 22 minutes.
