SAVANNAH RED RICE 
1/4 lb. bacon
1/2 c. chopped onions
2 c. raw rice
2 c. tomatoes
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. Tabasco

Fry bacon until crisp. Remove from pan. Cook the onions until tender in bacon fat. Add washed rice, tomatoes, seasoning and crumbled bacon. Cook over low heat about 10 minutes. Pour in 1 quart casserole. Cover tightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour stirring with fork several times. Serves 6 to 8.
