BAKED IN STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE 
1 c. flour (sifted)
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
Dash salt
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 c. firm strawberries

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; add egg, butter, and milk. Beat 2 minutes. Pour into greased 8-inch square pan. Top with strawberries. Sprinkle with topping and bake 35 minutes at 375 degrees.

TOPPING;
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Combine flour and sugar; cut in butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Blend in nuts.
