POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
3 tsp. lemon flavoring
5 eggs
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 lb. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour (I use cake flour) sifted
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1/2 c. Crisco

(May add 4 tablespoons cocoa for chocolate pound cake.) Cream sugar, butter and Crisco. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with eggs and milk. Add flavoring last. Grease and flour pan. Bake at 325 to 350 degrees for 1 hour 20 minutes.

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/4 stick butter, softened
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add sugar and mix well. Add vanilla and mix. Spread on cake. May top with sprinkled pecans.
