PEPPERMINT STICKS 
2 c. regular flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. soft butter
1 egg, separated
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces (6 oz.)
1/2 c. crushed peppermint candy

In large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, butter, egg yolk, and vanilla; blend well. Stir in the chocolate pieces. Spread in ungreased 15 x 10 inch jelly roll pan. Beat egg white until frothy; brush over bars. Sprinkle candy over bars. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly; cut into bars. Makes 40.
