BLACK WALNUT CAKE 
2 c. flour
2/3 c. butter
3 egg yolks (keep whites separate)
3/4 c. milk
2 tsp. black walnut extract
2 3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix all ingredients together. Beat egg whites and fold in cake batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until tests done.

COOKED WHITE ICING:

1 c. milk
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Stir cornstarch in the milk until thick. After it thickens, let cool. Cream together Crisco, sugar, and vanilla. Mix all ingredients together, beating until light and fluffy.
