3/4 lb. butter
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
9 oz. sugar
1 1/2 c. sweet potatoes (cooked & mashed)
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Add 1 egg at a time and beat between each addition. Add mashed sweet potatoes, mix well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add to shortening mixture; mix well. Add vanilla. Drop on greased baking sheet by tablespoon. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. When cool ice with orange icing.

ORANGE ICING:

Orange juice 1/2 cup; add powdered sugar until spreading consistency.
