LEMON SQUARE 
2 sticks butter, softened
1 1/2 c. white sugar
2 tsp. lemon rind
1 tsp. cream of tartar
4 egg yolks (save the whites)
2 c. self-rising flour
2 tsp. lemon rind

Add all together and mix well. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. While cake is baking get egg white ready. Add 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 cup white sugar, 1 teaspoon cream of tartar. Put on beater and beat until stiff. Then put on top of cake and bake for 30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
