BEANS AND BEEF CORN BREAD 
20 oz. can pork and beans
1 c. yellow cornmeal
1 c. sweet milk
3/4 tsp. salt
4 jalapeno peppers, chopped
1 lb. ground beef
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. bacon drippings
1/2 lb. Longhorn cheese, grated

Saute meat; drain and set aside. Combine next 7 ingredients for batter. Pour half the batter into a greased skillet. Spread meat over batter, sprinkle with peppers, cheese and onion. Pour remaining batter over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until done. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
