FLAKY PIE CRUST | |
Makes a flaky delicious, no fail crust! 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 1 1/2 cups shortening (Crisco) 6 tbsp. water 1 egg 1 tsp. vinegar Blend flour, salt and shortening until mealy. In separate bowl, mix together water, egg and vinegar; add all at once to flour mixture. Mix with fork until pastry leaves the side of bowl. Roll out on floured board. Yields 2 double crust pies and 1 pie shell, depending on the size of the pie plates used. Recipe may be halved. Submitted by: Pauline Carr |
