OLD-TIME MINCE MEAT CAKE 
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
3 eggs, well beaten
1/2 c. dark Karo
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. sweet milk
1 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. chopped red maraschino cherries
1 pkg. Mince Meat

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and Karo. Sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with milk. Beat well after each addition until thoroughly blended. Add mincemeat, pecans, and cherries. Cook in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or 1 hour. Dress with walnut halves, cherries, and dates.
