2 1/2 c. flour 1 stick butter 3/4 c. sugar 1 egg 1 tbsp. cinnamon Pinch of cloves 1 1/2 tbsp. cocoa 1/4 lb. ground almonds 2 tbsp. Schnapps (or brandy) 1 tsp. baking powder 4 or 5 tbsp. milk Mix all ingredients. Press 2/3 of dough into a jelly roll pan. Spread dough with jam or preserves. Use the remaining 1/3 of dough to make lattice work on top. Brush top with egg. Bake at 350 degrees until browned and jam is bubbly. |
