SWISS TREATS 
1 c. butter
1 egg, beaten
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. coconut
1 6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips

Cream butter, add sugar gradually. Blend in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and salt and stir into creamed mixture. Add nuts, cherries, coconut and chocolate chips. Spread dough in greased jelly roll pan.

Bake 20 minutes at 375°F. Cool slightly and cut into bars.

Makes about seven dozen.
