FRESH FRUIT COMPOTE 
1 (15 oz.) can unsweetened pineapple tidbits, undrained
3 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. water
3 tbsp. lemon juice
2 med. oranges, peeled, seeded & sectioned
2 med. apples, unpeeled & chopped
2 med. bananas, sliced
1 med. yellow apple, unpeeled & chopped
1 med. pear, unpeeled & chopped
1 c. seedless green grapes, halved
1 c. red grapes, halved & seeded

Drain pineapple, reserving juice; set aside. Combine cornstarch, sugar and nutmeg in a medium saucepan; gradually add water, stirring until smooth. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil; boil 1 minute and remove form heat. Stir in pineapple and lemon juices. Cool.

Combine pineapple and the other fruit in a large bowl; pour dressing over the top. Toss gently to coat. Cover and chill thoroughly.
