1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
mint chocolate stars (one per cookie)

Cream together butter and sugars. Add eggs, water and vanilla. Beat well and add flour, salt and baking soda. Chill dough.

To 1 tablespoon of dough enclose a chocolate star and roll into a ball. Bake on a greased cookie sheet at 375°F for 10 to 12 minutes.

Makes 4 1/2 dozen "surprise" cookies.
