2 eggs 2 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. shortening 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. or a little more vanilla Grandma made these in her bread tray. Put in flour like you are going to make biscuit. Make a hole in the middle, add the above ingredients. Work in enough flour to make a dough but not enough to make a stiff dough. Flour bread board and roll as thin as you like. Grandma's were not real thin or real thick. Cut out and bake in 350 degree oven until light or medium brown. |
