BLACK AND WHITE BARS 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. chopped nuts
2 squares unsweetened melted chocolate

Cream butter, vanilla and sugar together until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Stir well. Add flour and salt. Mix well. Stir in nuts. Divide batter in half, add chocolate to one part. Drop batter alternately by tablespoonfuls into greased waxed paper lined 13"x9"x2" pan. Run knife through batter several times to marbleize. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Turn out on rack to cool. Remove paper. Frost with chocolate or vanilla frosting. Cut into 3" x 1 1/2" bars.
