FINGER COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 c. flour
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. cold water

Cream butter good; add sugar, 1 teaspoon at a time; add vanilla and nuts and mix well. Add flour, mix in and last mix water in. Roll into fingers.

Bake at 350°F for 12-18 minutes. Put some powder sugar into a brown paper bag. Shake slightly cooled cookies one at a time, cool on waxed paper.

The are absolutely wonderful crisp cookies, traditional at Christmas. But use only 3 tablespoons powdered sugar in the cookies. Use the rest to roll and coat them in immediately after baking. We call them Nutfingers.
