OATMEAL AND RAISIN COOKIES 
1 c. sugar (3/4 white and 1/4 brown)
1/2 c. butter and 1/2 c. shortening
1 c. steamed raisins, cooled (using 5 tbsp. of juice)
2 eggs
Pinch of salt
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 c. oatmeal

Blend sugar, shortening and pinch of salt. Add raisins with the liquid, mix well. Add eggs, stir. Stir in flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and oatmeal. Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
