FRUIT CAKE COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. buttermilk
2 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. each: baking powder, salt, soda
1 c. each: chopped nuts, dates, candied cherries

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, mix well, add milk. Add salt and baking powder to flour mixture. Add cherries, nuts and dates. Chill. Use 1 tsp., drop on cookie sheet. Bake 350 degrees for 15 minutes until golden brown.
