CONGO SQUARES 
3/4 c. butter or shortening
2 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 c. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt butter or shortening in saucepan. Stir in brown sugar. Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes. Sift together next 3 ingredients. Add butter/sugar mixture slowly to flour mixture. Add eggs one at a time. Stir until well mixed. Add chocolate chips and mix. Spread in 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and cut in squares.
