(CHRISTMAS) CONGO SQUARES 
2/3 c. butter
2 1/4 c. (1 lb.) light brown sugar
3 eggs
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. red and green M & M's or 1 pkg. (6 oz.) chocolate chips

Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs and mix well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to mixture. Spread in greased and floured pan 10x15 inch. Top with candies. Bake 350 degrees 30-35 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen.

For Christmas season use red and green M & M's. Use chocolate chips otherwise.
