MEATBALLS SUPREME | |
3 slices bread 1 egg 3 tbsp. grated onion 1 tsp. salt 2 c. tomato juice 1/2 c. chopped carrots 1 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet 1/2 c. milk 1 lb. ground beef 3 tbsp. snipped parsley 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 c. water 1/2 c. chopped celery 1/2 tsp. salt Soften 3 slices bread in 1/2 cup milk, add 1 beaten egg. Mix ground beef, grated onion, snipped parsley, 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper. Combine bread and meat mixture. Form into 18 balls, roll in flour. In skillet brown balls in 2 tablespoons shortening, drain off excess fat. Add tomato juice, 1 cup water, chopped carrots, chopped celery, Kitchen Bouquet and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cover and simmer 45 minutes. Serve sauce with hot cooked rice or mashed potatoes. |
