COFFEE LIQUEUR 
1 1/2 c. sugar syrup
1/4 c. instant coffee powder
1 1/3 c. vodka
2 tsp. vanilla

BASIC SUGAR SYRUP:

1 1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c. granulated sugar
2 c. water

Stir syrup and instant coffee until very smooth (use 2 cup measuring cup). Pour into a 4 cup screw top jar. Stir in vodka and vanilla. Store in cool, dark place for 1 week.

FOR BASIC SUGAR SYRUP: Combine ingredients. Heat to boiling stirring often. Simmer 5 minutes. Pour into glass container. Cool before using.
