SWEET AND SOUR GREEN BEANS 
3 slices bacon
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. vinegar
1 qt. (4 c.) green beans
1 sm. onion, sliced

In skillet, fry bacon crisp. Drain bacon and reserve up to 1/3 cup grease. Add sugar and vinegar to remaining grease. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until sugar dissolves.

In 2 quart casserole, layer green beans and onions. Pour sugar/vinegar mixture over beans. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F. for 1 hour. Top with crumbled bacon. Serves 8-10.
