PECAN PETITE SURPRISE 
1 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. flour
1 c. chopped pecans
Maraschino cherries, drained
1 bag semi-sweet morsels

Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla extract, then flour. Stir in nuts. Measure rounded teaspoons of mixture. Flatten out in your hand and shape it around a maraschino cherry. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet (can be put on cookie sheet about 1/2 inch from each other since they don't flatten out when cooked). Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Let cool, then drizzle with melted chocolate. Yummy holiday "Special Treat"!
