CHEWY POPCORN BALLS | |
Here's what you need: 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. light corn syrup 4 tbsp. butter 1/2 tsp. salt 8 c. popped popcorn Here's what the grown up will do: pop the popcorn; turn the stove on; supervise the cooking. Here's what you do: 1. Place the sugar, light corn syrup, butter and salt in a large saucepan. 2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it reaches a steady simmer. 3. Add popcorn and toss until entirely coated. 4. Remove from stove and let the mixture cool 5 minutes. 5. Fill a medium size bowl with cold water, dip hands into water and shape popcorn into "tennis ball" size. 6. Place balls on wax paper. Cool 1/2 hour. Makes 8 to 10. |
