FRESH STRAWBERRY PIE 
1 1/2 qts. berries
3 tsp. cornstarch
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. butter
1 (9 inch) baked pie shell

Mix cornstarch, salt and 1/4 cup sugar. Add water and stir, cook until thick and transparent. Stir constantly, add rest of sugar and butter continued stir until melted, cool. Pour over berries in baked pie shell and chill (I use red food coloring to color the syrup). Top with whipped cream.
