1 c. water
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. butter
4 c. fresh sliced peaches or strawberries
Few drops food coloring red or yellow

Mix and cook water, sugar, cornstarch, almond flavoring and food coloring until thickened. Add butter. Let cool. Stir in fresh peaches or strawberries. Pour into baked pie crust. Top with Cool Whip. Store in refrigerator.
