CHARLOTTE'S SAWDUST SALAD | |
1 lg. box lemon Jello 1 lg. box orange Jello 2 c. boiling water Few ice cubes #2 can crushed pineapple (juice reserved) Few miniature marshmallows SECOND LAYER: 3/4 c. sugar 2 tsp. flour 1 c. pineapple juice 1 egg (beaten until frothy) THIRD LAYER: 2 pkgs. whipped Dream Whip Sm. pkg. cream cheese (softened) Sharp Cheddar cheese Dissolve Jello in 2 cups boiling water. Add ice cubes until it starts to gel. Drain pineapple (save juice). Add pineapple to Jello. Stir in enough miniature marshmallows to cover top. Let set in refrigerator until firm. Combine sugar, flour, pineapple juice and egg. Cook over medium heat. Let cool and pour over first layer. Whip 2 packages Dream Whip as directed on package. Blend in small softened cream cheese and spread over mixture. Top salad with grated sharp Cheddar cheese. Chill and serve. |
