CANDIED NUTS 
1 lb. (4 c.) pecan halves
2 tsp. butter
1/4 c. butter
2 egg whites
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon (or to taste)

Arrange nuts in a shallow pan. Add the teaspoons butter. Cook until brown in 325 degree oven. Remove from pan; cool. Melt the 1/4 cup butter in the pan. Beat the egg whites until moist peaks form.

Combine sugar, salt, cinnamon; fold into egg whites. Stir nuts into mixture. Spread them out over the melted butter, forming 1 layer. Bake 40 minutes at about 350 degrees.
