CHERRY, CASHEW NUT CANDY 
3 1/2 oz. vegetable shortening
8 oz. chocolate
1 tbsp. very strong coffee
6 oz. candied cherries
3/4 c. dried and grated coconut
6 oz. cashew nuts

Chop chocolate, add shortening and melt on top of double boiler. Add coffee. Put a thin layer of this mixture on the bottom of a greased square pan lined with paper. Sprinkle with cherries, nuts and coconut. Cover with remaining chocolate. Chill in the refrigerator until firm and cut into squares.
