WALNUT CHEESE PENNIES 
1 1/3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. finely shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
2 tbsp. cold water
Milk
1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts

Combine flour and salt in mixing bowl. Blend in butter with pastry blender, food processor, or 2 knives until mixture is well blended and fine crumbs form. Stir in cheese. Sprinkle water over mixture while tossing to blend well. Press dough firmly into ball with hands. (If mixture seems crumbly, work with hands until it will hold together). Chill half an hour. Roll out on lightly floured board or cloth and cut into 2 inch triangles, squares, or circles. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Brush with a little milk. Press a small amount of chopped walnuts on top of each. Bake in 350 degree oven 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 60.
