GRANDMA'S BAKING POWDER BISCUITS
2 c. flour
1/4 c. lard or shortening
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk

Mix flour, salt and baking powder. Work in lard with finger tips or pastry blender until crumbly. Make a well in center and pour in milk. Stir with fork until all flour disappears. Knead lightly on a floured surface for a minute or two. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thick.

Using a floured glass with about a 3 inch opening, cut the dough. Place on a cookie sheet. Let set for several minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Makes 12-18 biscuits.
