CAN'T MISS BAKING POWDER BISCUITS | |
2 c. flour 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tbsp. sugar 1/3 c. butter 3/4 c. buttermilk 1. In a large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt, soda and sugar; blend thoroughly. 2. Cut butter into chunks, add to bowl, rub mixture together with fingers or fork until its uniformly crumbly. 3. Pour in milk, stir with fork until dough clings together in a ball. 4. Turn onto flour dusted board, knead about 10 turns. 5. Place dough in a greased 9 or 10 inch round or square pan or fry pan (oven safe). Cut with a dusted biscuit cutter, leaving scraps in place. 6. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot with honey and butter or jam! Yum! Or add 1 teaspoon lemon juice to 3/4 cup regular milk, stir, wait a few minutes. |
