MICROWAVE CARAMELS 
1 c. butter
2 1/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
1 c. sweetened condensed milk
dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Place butter in large glass bowl and microwave 1 to 2 minutes to melt. Stir in brown sugar, corn syrup, salt and sweetened condensed milk. Cover with plastic wrap. Microwave 10 to 12 minutes. Remove plastic wrap (be careful of hot steam). Stir well. Put back in microwave 5 to 6 minutes uncovered. Stir 2 or 3 times. Remove from microwave. Add vanilla; stir. Pour on buttered sheet. Let cool. Cut and wrap in squares of waxed paper.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
