OATMEAL COOKIES | |
1 c. butter (1/2 Crisco, 1/2 butter) 12 tbsp. brown sugar (packed) 12 tbsp. white sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 1 c. plain flour 1 c. self-rising flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 1/2 c. oatmeal Mix all ingredients leaving oats until last. Drop in small balls on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees or until done. Let cool before removing from cookie sheet. Filling: Cool 1/4 cup flour, dash salt and 1 cup milk until thick. Let cool. Beat 1 cup sugar and 1 cup Crisco. Add to cooked mixture and beat until smooth. (Try to put 2 cookies about same size together.) |
