MY MOTHER'S APPLE TARTE 
3 lg. apples, peeled, diced 4 cups
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lg. egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
1/2 c. chopped nuts or raisins

Mix together, bake in greased 9 inch pan in preheated oven 325 degrees 35 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. 6 to 8 servings.
