MRS. MEADOWS' CHOCOLATE CHIP
COOKIES
 
1/2 lb. real butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
5 pkgs. (1 serving each) Quaker Instant Oatmeal
2 c. flour
3 bars (1.45 oz. each) Nestles milk chocolate candy bar, put in blender until consistency & size of dry barley
12 oz. bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. walnuts (opt.)

Using medium bowl and mixer on medium-high speed, combine first 8 ingredients, beating well with each addition. Put the 5 packets of instant oatmeal (regular flavor) through blender on high speed, a few seconds, until the consistency of flour. Remove beaters and work in oatmeal a little at a time and then flour, until dough is smooth. Work in ground Nestles candy and then chips and walnuts.

Prepare cookie sheet. Measure out dough in level 1/4 cup measuring cups, shaping each into patties 1/2 inch thick and about 2 inches in diameter. Place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for exactly 10 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE! Allow cookies to cool on sheet 5 minutes and then remove carefully to continue cooling on paper towels.
