ORIENTAL GREEN CASSEROLE | |
3 lb. hamburger, browned 1 c. chopped celery 1 c. chopped onion 3/4 c. chopped green pepper 2 (7 oz.) cans bamboo shoots 4 c. pea pods (12 oz. frozen) Brown hamburger, drain fat. Add celery and onion and green pepper. Add 2 1/2 cups water. Bring to a boil. Combine 1/3 cup corn starch, 3/4 teaspoon ginger and 1 tablespoon sugar. Blend in 3/4 cup soy sauce and 1/3 cup water. Add to meat mixture and stir until thick. Stir in bamboo shoots, drained and the pea pods. Simmer in skillet until vegetables are tender and then top with chow mein noodles. Serve with rice. Serves 12. |
