ORANGE BREAD 
1 med. orange
1/2 c. nuts, coarsely chopped
1/2 c. dates, cut fine
2 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 c. fresh orange juice
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder

Cut orange into sections and put through a food chopper. Add dates, nuts, butter, orange juice, sugar, and beaten egg.

Sift dry ingredients and add to fruit mixture. Stir lightly, just until mixed.

Pour into greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes. Cool thoroughly before slicing. Makes 1 loaf.
