WILTED ONIONS 
1 1/2 lb. red onions, thinly sliced
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1/2 c. white vinegar
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
3-4 drops Tabasco sauce

Put onions in glass bowl. Bring other ingredients to boil. Pour over onions and let stand. When cool, refrigerate overnight. Serves 6-8.
