DATE LOAF ROLLS 
2 c. sugar
1 c. milk
2 tbsp. butter
1 pkg. pitted dates
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts
Bottle of cut up & drained cherries

Cook the sugar and milk together until the mixture begins to boil. Add butter and dates; cook, stirring constantly, at low heat until dates are well cooked. Mixture will be very thick when it is done. Remove from range and add vanilla, drained cherries and nuts. Beat as long as possible and pour onto a damp cloth. Form a roll.
