DATE LOAF ROLL 
2 c. sugar
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. light corn syrup
1 c. chopped dates
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. pecans

Mix sugar and flour; add to milk and syrup. Cook until it will form soft ball in cold water. Add chopped dates and butter, and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from fire and cool. Beat until creamy, then add vanilla and pecans, and turn out on wet cloth. Knead like dough for a minutes and form roll.
